Harajuku just north of Shibuya is a centre for youth fashion culture in Japan. It represents what is “cool” and “cute” – an eclectic mix of Hello Kitty and Lolita meets Hip Hop, Punk and Goth. Totally mad but adorable, a fashion art form all of its own.
Opposite the exit to the Harajuku station is Takashita-dori, the narrow street is filled with fashion, people, boutiques and cafes. The place to buy up all the latest in Japanese street fashion.
